Jibdescription vacancy Risk Officer Curacao
The goal of the risk department is to have a holistic, integrated, forward-looking and process-orientated approach to managing all key business risks, not just financial ones, with the intent of maximizing shareholder value for the enterprise as a whole.

As Risk Officer you will report directly to the Chief Risk Officer. Your main objective is to assist the Risk Department in its objective to mitigate risks to within the organization’s risk appetite and assist the business with managing residual risks where they exist.

Duties will include:
• assisting the Chief Risk Officer with the development, coordination and implementation of local and global risk initiatives
• challenging existing risk management processes (from identification to mitigation strategies to residual risk analysis)
• perform base reviews of business & risk critical processes and map risks and corresponding controls back to our Risk Framework executing risk monitoring activities and reporting findings
• reporting on the key risks, the quality and adequacy of the risk management systems and whether appropriate processes are in place
• fulfilling a central liaison role for the Risk Department where risk spans processes between business departments or geographical locations
• leading and organizing the local risk committee meetings
• being proactive and applying best practices, creating synergies and increasing standardization
• providing support to the business units and the central level on risk issues. Give second opinions on all risk proposals submitted to the risk committees by the business
• raising awareness and understanding of the risks being taken.

Job criteria vacancy Risk Officer Curacao
Profile:
• Strong academic background such as an University/ HBO degree in Business Administration, Economics, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics or Finance
• Solid analytical and organizational skills coupled with above average computer literacy (in basic banking applications)
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and a pleasant personality with a pragmatic approach
• Proven ability to work within deadlines, a constantly changing environment and being stress- adaptive
• Detailed understanding of the local and regional corporate and financial markets
• Previous Risk & Banking experience is a plus.
